On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Rivers 2050 Vision project hosted a landmark virtual Town Hall featuring Mr. Habes Howail of the Qatar Foundation, in a powerful conversation themed: “Rivers 2050: Lessons from Qatar.”

As Rivers State looks ahead to a 25-year development future, this session was designed to spark cross-continental learning from Qatar’s nationally renowned Vision 2030 — one of the world’s most ambitious long-term development frameworks.

🌍 Key Points From the Town Hall:

  • Public leadership must be deliberate to advance development. When public leaders lead by example, other key stakeholders typically follow suit
  • Investments in context-specific education and youth development must be prioritised. Education investments should align with national development priorities
  • When young people collaborate, they can drive more broad-based development
  • To young people, focus on less talk and more action!
