As Nigeria advances toward the goals of the Nigeria Agenda 2050, subnational governments must strategically align to benefit from national growth pathways. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, we hosted Dr. Tayo Aduloju, CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), in a town hall conversation focused on how Rivers State can meaningfully contribute to, and benefit from, this national vision.

This dialogue forms part of the Rivers 2050 Vision, a citizen-led long-term development initiative that brings together over 100 young people across Rivers State, along with experts and public leaders, to craft a new development blueprint for the State. Through statewide surveys, expert interviews, and focus group discussions, the initiative is creating a bold new future narrative for Rivers State.

Dr. Aduloju shared insights on the importance of strategic planning, foresight, and institutional synergy – emphasizing that Nigeria’s success story in 2050 will depend on how states like Rivers harness their potential today.
